Jeuveau is an injectable that is used to temporarily improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It works by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles to form.
A Jeuveau treatment typically takes 15-30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
Jeuveau is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines, which are the vertical lines that form between the eyebrows when you frown. However, Jeuveau can also be used off-label to improve the appearance of other facial wrinkles and fine lines, such as forehead lines and crow’s feet around the eyes. The injection is typically administered in a series of small doses directly into the muscles that are responsible for the appearance of wrinkles in these areas.
Jeuveau has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines, which means that it has undergone rigorous testing to ensure its safety and effectiveness.
The results of a Jeuveau injection typically last for 3-6 months, depending on the individual patient.
Most patients are able to resume their normal activities immediately after the injection. However, it is recommended that patients avoid strenuous exercise or alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours after the injection.
Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in Jeuveau, such as botulinum toxin type A or human serum albumin, should not receive this treatment. Additionally, patients who have a history of allergic reactions to other botulinum toxin products, such as Botox, should also avoid Jeuveau. Patients with a history of neuromuscular disorders, such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, should also avoid Jeuveau, as it may exacerbate these conditions.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also avoid Jeuveau, as the safety of this treatment during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Patients who have active infections or inflammation at the injection site should also delay treatment until the condition has resolved.
